Sad news...

The sad news is that my step father-in-law passed away just over a week ago. In the end it was a blessed relief.

As I suspected Fred was much worse than he had let on and it transpired that his kidneys had failed, his liver was in failure mode and his lower bowel was impacted.

When his heart finally gave out Fred slipped away peacefully with Louise mopping his brow and her mother holding his hand.

We have spent the time since Fred's death trying to sort out his estate and preparing to move Lou's mother in with us. It has suddenly become even more important that we move out of The Crescent into somewhere more suitable for looking after an elderly person who is wheelchair bound.

Fred's funeral is next week, so I probably won't be blogging again until after that.
