Apologies for the paucity of my blog entries over the past few weeks. Don't worry, I haven't been slacking, indeed, things have been so hectic I simply haven't had time to update my blog.
It has been more difficult than I had imagined helping Louise look after her invalid mother and sorting out the affairs of her dead stepfather, as well as trying to sell two bungalows, buying a house as well as campaigning for the General Election.
Campaigning during the last month has consisted of lots of delivering, knocking on lots of doors, putting out lots of press releases, visiting lots of local businesses and organisations, dealing with lots of emails from people seeking my help. Lots of everything in fact!
In addition I have been spending a great deal of time starting to put together material for the General Election campaign which must take place by June next year. There is so much to organise, but luckily I have the help of Louise and my campaign team, led by that old war horse, John Burke. What would I do without them?
Anyway, the most likely date for the General Election is still 6th May, however, there is still an outside chance that Gordon Brown will have a sudden rush of blood to the head and call a snap election for sometime at the end of March. We need to be prepared just in case.
As from 4th January we start campaigning full time.
Currently we face candidates from the Labour Party, UKIP, the BNP and, no doubt, the Liberal Democrats, although for some reason they appear to be dragging their feet in selecting somebody.
It will be an interesting and hard fought campaign, but I am up for it!
Merry Christmas!
