FOR SITTINGBOURNE & SHEPPEY

Mat and Millie...

Yesterday I said goodbye to Matthew MacGill, the student who has been working with me on a Monday and Tuesday over the past few weeks. In addition to helping my campaign on a voluntary basis, Mat has a full time vacation catering job in Canterbury and next week he is preparing to go back to University.

Luckily for me, I have Millie Jessel helping me out for the rest of this week, and then sadly she too will be getting ready to return for her last year in school before hopefully going off to University. She too has worked on a voluntary basis.

Mat hails from Canterbury and paid his own fare to and from Sittingbourne. Millie lives between Marden and Staplehurst and has been driving herself to Sittingbourne every day at her own cost.

Neither has any direct connection with Sittingbourne & Sheppey, so it is quite humbling to think that were both willing to sacrifice time and money during their holiday to help my campaign.

Young people often get a bad press and are accused of not being interested in the world around them. Mat and Millie prove those critics wrong. They completed some pretty boring (yet essential to the preparation of our election campaign), tasks with good humour, skill and dedication.

Mat and Millie, I am really grateful for your help. It has been a pleasure working with you and I will miss you both!
