For a referendum on the EU constitution, promised by Tony Blair before the last General Election, and refused by Gordon Brown immediately after the election. Gordon took a team of activists to Sittingbourne High Street where they collected hundreds of signatures on their petition in just two hours.

Help local fruit farmers. To highlight the importance of agriculture to the local economy, Gordon presented Tory Leader, David Cameron, with a box of apples grown on a farm in Upchurch.

Improve the financial stability of local voluntary groups. To highlight the difficulties being faced by voluntary organisations when applying for grants from the Lottery Fund, Gordon arranged for representatives of local charities to meet shadow cabinet minister, Theresa May MP.

Clean up Sheerness Canal. Gordon has organised an annual clean up of the canal when he is joined by local residents and youth groups in an effort to make the area a cleaner, greener place in which to live.

Show that the NHS will be safe in the hands of a Conservative Government. To symbolise Gordon’s commitment to the NHS and to celebrate its 60th birthday, he presented staff from Sittingbourne Memorial and Sheppey Community Hospital with birthday cakes.
