It's good to be back!

There was much excited speculation on political websites when I stopped writing my blog late last year. For instance our local Labour MP, Derek Wyatt, wrote on his own website the following words of wisdom…

‘In another setback last night, a leaked document showed that Tory leaders are unhappy with some general election candidates.

‘They have created a “watch list” of candidates who have the potential to cause distractions, and have instituted fortnightly meetings to assess them.

‘The leaked minutes of a meeting in October say that there is particular concern about articles written by candidates on websites.’

Having set the scene in such dramatic terms this representative of the party of email smear campaigns then showed how far the black art of smearing has percolated through the Labour Party by slyly adding…

‘We wondered why Gordon Henderson's blog has gone missing from the local Tory web site...........’

The inference that I stopped writing my blog because of pressure from David Cameron is not only laughable, but completely untrue. I’m afraid the reason is far more mundane. I stopped writing my blog because I have been so busy helping to set up my new website that I simply didn’t have time to post regularly.

But now the website is launched, the blog will start again.

It’s good to be back!

So where shall we start? Well, let’s begin by having a look at that statement by Mr Wyatt: ‘…a leaked document showed that Tory leaders are unhappy...’ Note that word: a leaked document!

It would be interesting to learn why Mr Wyatt feels it is OK for Labour to use a leaked document to smear its opponents, and yet when Shadow Immigration Spokesman, Damien Green, used a leaked document to highlight the ineptitude of the Government’s immigration policy, he was arrested simply for doing his job!

Truly New Labour – New Hypocrites!
