Litter Angels is Charity of the Year 2017!
Local charity, Litter Angels, has been chosen as the KM Sittingbourne News Extra and Sittingbourne Messenger Charity of the Year 2017.
Litter Angels was set up by Gordon Henderson, Member of Parliament for Sittingbourne and Sheppey, in 2008 to create awareness of the effects of litter on the environment.
The KM will support Litter Angels throughout the year by raising its charity profile and promoting its fundraising activities, the first of which is an abseil challenge in Maidstone.
Litter Angels are looking for members of the public to get involved in its fundraising activities and raise sponsorship for the charity.
Mr Henderson said,
‘Litter Angels would like to thank the KM for choosing to support our charity throughout 2017. We are very grateful for this opportunity to raise our profile, promote our message about the anti-social nature of litter and the way it blights our local environment.
‘As a charity we need to raise funds to operate so we are delighted the KM will be highlighting our fundraising efforts. During the year we will be taking part in a range of events, including abseiling, completing an assault course, a colour run, a charity walk and bike ride.
‘It would be great if local people, who want to support us in our efforts to clean up our environment, take part in one or other of those events.’
If you would be interested in supporting Litter Angels and taking part in any activites please contact Jess McMahon on 01795 423199 or email [email protected].
