Three brings free mobile internet to residential home
Three is providing free mobile internet to Archer House in Sittingbourne, where teams from Casa Support and Kent and Medway Partnership Trust provide support for people recovering from mental health issues.
Eight tenants live in self contained flats at the project and will move into the wider community when they feel ready to be independent.
A Three dongle will give residents access to the internet, help them learn how to use it, and discover all the benefits being online can bring, as well as improve their skills and gain support.
The dongle will give residents and staff a more flexible internet experience and can be used on different computers at the project and taken out and about.
The donation of internet connectivity forms part of Three’s Community Network Project. The project aims to help bring connectivity to projects that support the seven million people in the UK who aren’t online use the web.
Gordon Henderson, MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey, visited the centre today to see the work first hand and said: “I’m grateful to Three for providing free mobile internet to Archer House. Helping people with mental illness live an independent life is hugely important and being able to get the most out of the internet is a vital part of this.”
Hugh Davies, Corporate Affairs Director at Three UK, said: “The internet is an essential part of everyday life and can play a huge role in improving skills and helping people support themselves.”
Our network was built for the internet, so we’re passionate about helping people enjoy all the benefits the internet can offer.”
