MP visits new electrical business
Kent based electrical contractor Prowired Electrical welcomed local MP Gordon Henderson to their new business premises on the Eurolink Business Park in Sittingbourne to hear about their business and to launch their new headquarters.
Prowired Electrical was started in 2014 by fellow Directors Danny Edmonds and Nathan Fribbence and the business primarily provides electrical contract services to high quality housing developments across the South east. The company has grown in that time to a point where they have a team of 12 highly qualified electricians.
Both directors are fully qualified and have immense experience in the industry having completed their apprenticeships and then worked for various other companies before striking out on their own.
Danny Edmonds said: “We initially ran the business from our homes, and although we were doing well we knew that we needed a unit to work from. It took us a while to find the right place but in the short time we have been here we are already seeing the benefits of being able to bounce ideas of each other and we can make decisions faster. The new offices provide a great environment for the team to work and a base to meet current and new clients. We also benefit from being able to keep our stores in a central location.”
Nathan Fribbence said: “It’s great to be working with Danny in this business. He worked for me for many years and I recognised then that he was by far the best electrician I had ever met. The business is thriving and I believe this is because we are of about the right size to be able to offer a competitive, honest and trust worthy service.”
The company managed the fit out of their unit themselves and the work so impressed a business taking over a nearby unit that they have asked Prowired to manage their fit out as well.
The directors are committed to helping young people into the industry and have already helped four young people to complete their apprenticeships.
Local MP Gordon Henderson visited the business to hear about their plans. He said: “I was really impressed with the professionalism of Prowired and am delighted that they decided to set up their new office in my constituency. Sittingbourne is fast becoming the economic dynamo of Kent, with lots of new jobs in the pipeline. One of our biggest challenges is providing a skilled workforce to fill those jobs, so I was delighted to learn of Prowired’s commitment to offering apprenticeships. We need more local companies to follow their example.”
Nathan is very positive about the support the business has received from the company’s Barclays Business Manager Sally Saint. Nathan said: “Sally has been really good, she helped us from day one with her business knowledge and willingness to get to know the business. There were times when we thought the purchase might not go through but Sally persevered and we are very grateful to her.”
Barclays Business Manager Sally Saint said: “It’s great to see how Danny and Nathan are developing their business and I’m pleased to have been able to support them on the next stage of their growth. Our aim is to support successful businesses such as this up and down the UK and I look forward to working with them for many years to come.
