MP’s business website reaches 10,000 hits
Gordon Henderson’s business website, the Sittingbourne and Sheppey Link 2 Business (www.blinkss.co.uk) has reached 10,000 hits since it was created in January 2011.
The Sittingbourne and Sheppey Link 2 Business was created for local businesses to be kept up-to-date with business news and information as well as have a direct link to Mr Henderson for advice.
In October 2011, the website took a new direction by incorporating news for the voluntary and community sector in Sittingbourne and Sheppey and a directory of local organisations in an effort to link the local business, voluntary and community sectors together.
In addition to the website, Mr Henderson also hosts monthly business breakfasts, some of which are themed for discussing specific issues currently affecting local businesses.
Danny Peters and Gail Marra of Rocque Recycling in Queenborough have attended a number of the business breakfasts over the last year. They said:
“As a young enterprising company back in 2010 we found the BLINKSS web site and the regular breakfast meetings invaluable to the growth of our business. 15 months on and not only do we visit the BLINKSS website regularly but we attend the breakfast meetings at every opportunity.
“The networking opportunities have and continue to be hugely beneficial and the direct contact with our local MP Gordon Henderson and his dedicated team is priceless.”
Mr Henderson said,
“The website and the business breakfasts have proved very successful over the last year and I hope this continues in 2012. Its success is entirely thanks to all the local businesses and voluntary organisations who have so far supported the initiative.”
The final business breakfast for 2011 will take place on 25th November 2011 at the Abbey Hotel in Minster. The meeting will be an open discussion for business people to ask Gordon ANY questions. A new 2012 timetable will be added to the website as soon as possible.
