MP takes advice surgeries on the road

Residents of Sittingbourne and Sheppey will not need to travel far to speak to their Member of Parliament in 2012 as Gordon Henderson takes his advice surgeries on the road.

Previously, Mr Henderson’s advice surgeries have been held by appointment only at his constituency office in Periwinkle Court in Milton Regis and Sheppey College in Sheerness, however, from February 2012, Mr Henderson will be holding additional drop-in advice surgeries between the hours of 5:00pm-6:30pm at a variety of village halls around Sittingbourne and Sheppey.

The five village hall locations for the drop-in advice surgeries will be Eastchurch, Upchurch, Teynham, Warden and Lower Halstow. Local ward Councillors will also be available to take up any issues relating to Swale Borough Council or Kent County Council.

Mr Henderson said:

“I am aware that many of my constituents are unable to travel long distances, so I felt it was time to try and spread myself around the constituency in order to be closer to them.

“I want my constituents to feel that their local MP and Councillors are approachable and that they can highlight to us any problems currently affecting them.”

The first drop-in advice surgery takes place on Friday 3rd February 2012 at Eastchurch Village Hall between 5:00pm-6:30pm. Local Swale Borough Councillors John Morris, Lesley Ingham and June Garrad have confirmed their attendance.
