Following the announcement yesterday by the Secretary of State for Education relating to the cuts in the Building Schools for the Future programme made necessary by the financial mess in which the previous administration left the Public Finances, I have today written to the mainline secondary schools asking them to put forward any circumstances they feel warrant them being treated as a special case at which time I will be happy to make representations on their behalf.
Meanwhile, I have written to Michael Gove and pleaded with him to make an exception of the Isle of Sheppey Academy, whose funding is also under threat.
