MP welcomes new Community Toolkit
Gordon Henderson has welcomed a new community toolkit that has been created by Zurich Municipal to help local residents who want to set up a small community group or activity.
The Community Toolkit is a free online resource providing information and guidance on how to organise a community activity and the aspects which need to be considered, such as legal, healthy and safety and insurance and planning.
This initiative, developed by Zurich Municipal, the leading provider of risk and insurance solutions to the UK’s public services in association with specialists from legal healthy and safety and volunteering backgrounds, aims to make volunteering more simple and hopes the Community Toolkit will be a valuable source of information.
Mr Henderson said,
“Many of my constituents enjoy volunteering and have ideas for small community activities and so I think this Community Toolkit will provide a helpful resource on how to get started.
“I would like to see more community involvement, because I am convinced this would make a big difference to the quality of life in our area.
“In addition, community activities can provide participants with a new range of skills as well as proving interesting and rewarding.”
