MP calls on constituents to act now and book a Will Aid solicitor in November
Gordon Henderson, MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey, today called on constituents who haven’t yet made a will to quickly make an appointment with a Will Aid solicitor before all their appointments are taken.
Will Aid solicitors will draw up a basic will free of charge during November with the aim of raising as much money as possible for the Will Aid charities. The solicitors taking part hope clients will choose to donate the fee they would normally charge. The suggested donation level is £85 for a single will, £125 for a pair of matching or 'mirror' wills or £40 for a codicil or change to an existing will.
Mr Henderson remarked:
“This is a great chance for people to obtain an affordable will, drawn up by a qualified solicitor. It’s an opportunity for people to help their own loved ones and, at the same time, to help people in need around the world.”
The money raised is shared between the participating charities (ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire) and provides vital funds to help people develop communities and build a future in the UK and around the world.
This is the chance to protect your family and others globally by taking a will with any of Will Aid’s 1,300 generous solicitors and to help beat last year’s total of £1.5 million donated to the Will Aid charities.
Will Aid solicitors are taking appointments now and are likely to book up very quickly. So find a convenient participating solicitor today at http://www.willaid.org.uk/will-makers/find-solicitor or by calling the hotline on 0300 0300 013.
