MP supports Sailing Club’s competition bid

Local MP, Gordon Henderson is supporting the Isle of Sheppey Sailing Club’s Sailability project in Sheerness which has been shortlisted to take part in a TV competition.

The People’s Millions 2010, which takes place on ITV Meridian (East), will see community groups go head-to-head in a bid to win a lottery award of £50,000. The Isle of Sheppey Sailing Club’s Sailability project is one of the first projects to compete on 22nd November 2010.

If the Sailability projects receives the most viewers votes they would use their winnings to refurbish and extend the inside facilities at the Isle of Sheppey sailing club, improving access for disabled users and increasing the overall changing room capacity.

Mr Henderson said,

“If would be good to see Sheppey Sailing Club win this competition and I would urge all islanders to vote for our local club.”
