Prizes needed to raise money for 2000-mile cycle challenge

Gordon Henderson MP has offered lunch for two at the Houses of Parliament as a prize at a fundraising event to raise money for a young boy to complete a 2000-mile cycle challenge.

Eben Fletcher, 20, from Sheerness who has Dyspraxia, is hoping to complete the 2000-mile cycle challenge in three stages starting in Southampton and finishing in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, to raise money for the Dyspraxia Foundation.

In order for Eben to raise enough money to hire all his cycling equipment he will be hosting a number of fundraising events on the Isle of Sheppey and hopes local businesses will be able to provide him with some prizes for competitions, raffles and auctions.

Mr Henderson said,

“I think that Eben is very brave to undertake such a tough challenge and I wish him the very best of luck.

“It is inspirational that somebody so young is trying to raise money for those affected by Dyspraxia and he is a credit to our local youngsters who too often receive unwarranted bad publicity.

“I am more than happy to support Eben’s efforts by offering as a raffle prize lunch for two in the Houses of Parliament and hope that local businesses will follow my example and contribute more prizes so that Eben can raise enough money to complete his challenge.

Any businesses who would like to donate a prize please contact Sue Fletcher on 07825210093 or by email on [email protected].
