MP launches the refurbished Barclays branch in Sittingbourne

Gordon Henderson, Member of Parliament for Sittingbourne and Sheppey, formally launched the Barclays Sittingbourne branch after a major refurbishment.

The branch, which originally opened in 1923 has a new layout with an expanded and more welcoming banking hall, and a mix of state of the art self –service technology and traditional counters.

Branch manager Sarah Chappell said:

'I’m proud that our branch has been chosen to have this major refurbishment, it’s a big investment in Sittingbourne and a vote of confidence in the town. We have been getting very positive comments from customers about the re design and it was a pleasure to welcome Gordon Henderson MP to the branch to show him the improvements we have made. We have been supporting customers from this branch for over 90 years and I look forward to welcoming customers to the branch for many years to come.'

'I was delighted to officially open the refurbished Barclays Bank branch in Sittingbourne. At a time when so many banks are closing their high street branches, I am pleased that Barclays have shown this commitment to my constituency.'
