MP supports Climate Week

Local MP, Gordon Henderson is supporting Climate Week, a new national occasion to show how we can combat climate change.

Climate Week, commencing 21st March 2011, which is backed by David Cameron, will see thousands of events and activities being hosted by organisations, businesses and community groups throughout the UK to highlight positive steps being taken to tackle climate change.

Mr Henderson said,

“The current climate is changing in unpredictable ways as seen with flooding, hurricanes, increased temperatures in summer and heavy snow in winter due to the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

“I encourage local businesses, organisations, schools and community groups to take part in Climate Week as this is an opportunity to share ideas, make improvements and showcase innovations on how to reduce carbon emissions.”
