MP congratulates College awarded Big Lottery funding

Local MP, Gordon Henderson has congratulated Sittingbourne Community College, who have been awarded £9,665 by the Big Lottery Fund.

The Big Lottery Fund gives out millions of pounds every year from the National Lottery to good causes. The money goes to community groups and to projects that improve health, education and the environment.

Sittingbourne Community College will use the funding to deliver a health and well-being programme for the wider community, which will include fun physical activities, advice on healthy eating and fitness monitoring support.

This will encourage participants to increase their exercise levels and lead healthier lifestyles, improving their quality of life.

Mr Henderson said,

“I am delighted that projects within Sittingbourne and Sheppey are being awarded funding that will help the quality of life for my constituents.

“I congratulate Sittingbourne Community College for achieving this particular award and I hope that their health and well-being programme is successful.
