Commuters urged to have their say on rail services
Gordon Henderson MP is urging commuters in Sittingbourne and Sheppey to raise with Southeastern Rail any complaints they have about the rail service with which they are currently provided by and any suggestions they have as to how that service can be improved.
Southeastern will be submitting a proposal to the Department for Transport once their six-month extension period ends on their current contract in the hope that the franchise will be renewed in November 2014.
They would like to hear your views on customer service, ticketing, passenger engagement, station car parking, accessibility and how to manage disruption.
Mr Henderson said,
“Southeastern has provided rail services for commuters in my constituency for a number of years and during that time I have received a large number of complaints.
“This consultation exercise gives local commuters an opportunity to air their concerns so that Southeastern can take account of those views when they formulate their franchise bid.
“With the help of other Kent MPs I have urged the Government to ensure that the new franchise puts the interests of local train users at the very top of its agenda and pressure from commuters will add weight to our argument.”
Submissions can be made by email to [email protected] or by post to Southeastern Direct Awards Consultation, PO Box 63428, London, SE1P 5FD. The deadline for submission is 4th October 2013.
