Litter Angels is a charity set up by Gordon Henderson MP over five years ago to create, through education, awareness about the anti-social nature of litter and its effect on our local environment.
Each year in Sittingbourne and Sheppey, in partnership with McDonalds and backed by Keep Britain Tidy, Litter Angels visit local primary schools during September and October to run Litter Angels workshops.
A workshops include:-
• A fun filled presentation including information about the campaign and interesting facts about litter.
• A reading of a Litter Angels story by the Member of Parliament, or a special guest.
• Entry into the annual anti-litter poster competition.
• A pack for the school to keep, which includes stickers and fact sheets for the children.
The winning entry of the anti-litter poster competition is displayed in the car parks of the three local McDonalds restaurants.
